Director of Youth Programs
Dennis Sanderson has 18 years of drum set and percussion experience and is the founder of Monument Music, established in 2001. He is a Zildjian and Vic Firth artist.
You can hear him play locally in many settings such as the Colorado State University Jazz Ensemble, Pueblo Symphony and the local rock band The Knight Beats.
He has opened up for large acts including, Valerie Naranjo from (The Saturday Night Live Band), Rome (Sublime with Rome), Less than Jake and The English Beat to name a few.
Dennis has recorded more than 7 studio albums.
He won the 2015 Colorado store finals at the Guitar Center Drum Off competition.
He is the founder and coordinator of the annual Colorado Springs Youth Drum Competition.
Dennis has studied under Henrique De Almeida (Professor at Berklee College of Music), Johnny Barbata (Jefferson StarShip and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young), Bruce Anderson (PIkes Peak Community College), and Eric Kruse (Blue Knights Drum Corps), and Aaron Turner (CSU, Colorado Springs Philharmonic) at CSU Pueblo.
Education: He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from Colorado State University and an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts with a focus in music from Pikes Peak Community College.
Teaching: He has 10+ years of professional teaching experience and has been working with more than 50 students per week since 2011. Dennis has helped many students succeed in school bands, on worship teams and in their own musical goals.
